Living Yoga: From Practice to Purpose
Yoga was always meant to be lived.
You may have spent years learning poses, breathwork, sequencing, or meditation. But beneath the physical practice is an entire body of wisdom devoted to understanding ourselves, how we relate to the world around us, and how we move through life with greater awareness and intention.
Living Yoga creates space to explore that deeper practice.
Together, we’ll look at the roots and philosophy of yoga, examine the ideas that have shaped the practice for thousands of years, and translate them into something relevant, practical, and meaningful for life today.
Not simply philosophy to understand. Wisdom you can actually use.
What We’ll Explore
Over four immersive sessions, we’ll explore:
The roots of yoga
Go beyond the modern physical practice and understand where yoga came from, what it was designed to cultivate, and how its teachings evolved.
The philosophy behind the practice
Explore foundational yogic concepts and frameworks that offer a different way of understanding yourself, your choices, and your relationship with the world around you.
Awareness + alignment
Learn to recognize patterns, reactions, and internal narratives — and create more space between what happens and how you respond.
Resilience + empowered living
Discover practical ways to work with the teachings of yoga off the mat, especially in the moments when life asks the most of you.
This may be for YOU if you …
- Love yoga and have found yourself wondering what exists beyond the physical practice.
- Want to understand the philosophy and history behind what you practice.
- Are interested in personal growth, self-awareness, and living with greater intention.
- Want tools that feel practical and applicable to real life.
- Feel ready to deepen your relationship with yoga without committing to a full teacher training.
(You don’t need to be an ‘advanced’ practitioner or yoga teacher.)
This is not a Yoga Teacher Training
You don’t have to want to teach yoga to want to understand it more deeply.
Living Yoga was created for students who want access to the deeper teachings of yoga without enrolling in a 200-hour teacher training.
There are no teaching requirements, no certification expectations, and no need to perform.
Come as a student. Come curious. Come ready to explore.
** Down the road if you do choose to enroll in a 200-hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training), this will serve as a great foundation for your studies.

The deepest practice is the one you learn to live.
Yoga can change the way we move. It can also change the way we see, choose, respond, connect, and live.
Living Yoga is an invitation to explore BOTH.
About Valerie
Valerie has spent more than two decades immersed in the study, practice, and teaching of yoga and mindfulness. Her introduction to mindfulness began in the 1990s through Jon Kabat-Zinn, and she began practicing yoga in 2000.
Over the years, her work has centered on helping students move beyond simply doing the practice to understanding how its principles can shape the way they relate to themselves, navigate challenges, and move through everyday life.
An E-RYT 500 and experienced facilitator, Valerie has guided thousands of students and teachers through practices rooted in awareness, self-inquiry, intentional movement, and personal growth. She is especially passionate about helping people understand the deeper “why” behind yoga and translate that wisdom into something practical, relevant, and lived.
Living Yoga brings together the parts of the practice she has found most meaningful: philosophy, reflection, embodied experience, and practical tools for greater awareness, resilience, alignment, and intention.
